The Northern territory government sought expressions of interest to develop the Darwin Waterfront precinct from an international panel of property developers. The precinct had been the base for the local fishing industry and was surrounded by small industrial activities and fuel storage.
The vision was for a mixed use residential, tourism, retail and leisure precinct directly linked to the Darwin CBD, which is adjacent but separated by a very steep hill or cliff.
Toga was the successful party, winning development rights. The project took several years to complete and saw Reid Campbell engaged for various assignments.
